Sahil Chopra is a Portfolio Manager with Grand Challenges Canada’s Global Mental Health program. In this role, he manages a portfolio of investments that support the mental health and wellbeing of young people in low-resource settings under the Being initiative.
Sahil is a seasoned public health professional with over a decade of experience in implementation, policy development, and grant management. Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada in 2022, he worked as a Manager at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), where he successfully managed a diverse portfolio in investments related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Nutrition.
His collaborative work extended to organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Packard Foundation, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, MSI Reproductive Choices, CHAI, Ipas, and various local organizations. Sahil’s career journey also includes leadership in adolescent health projects in India with Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, and his initial role as a Senior Consultant with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, where he managed projects focused on health system strengthening.
