Diana Sanchez Guadarrama is a Program Associate on the OPTions Initiative team at Grand Challenges Canada.
Diana is committed to global health and social equity. Her interests and research topics have ranged from women’s health interventions to vaccine development for schistosomiasis. For her Master’s thesis, she evaluated an intervention preventing intimate partner violence among women in Mwanza, Tanzania. She also has experience in clinical research, coordinating trials for new cancer therapies at a Montreal-based hospital.
Diana comes to Grand Challenges Canada with experience on an innovation team – she contributed to designing an intervention to counter female genital mutilation/cutting in Nigeria which was successfully funded as a Stars in Global Health grantee.
She is thrilled to be contributing to gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights efforts with the OPTions team and innovators. Diana holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and also speaks French and Spanish.
