Catherine Bravo-Judah is the Finance Manager – Compliance for Grand Challenges Canada (GCC), where she leads the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Team. As part of GCC’s risk mitigation strategy on fiduciary project risk, the Compliance Team is responsible for conducting spot-check audits on funding recipients to ensure their financial reporting adheres to GCC’s funding requirements.
Previously, she was the Team Lead – Compliance, coordinating and overseeing the implementation of GCC’s audit plan. Before joining the Compliance Team, she reviewed financial reports, supported the negotiation process and assisted throughout the financial reporting process, as a Senior Financial Analyst.
Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Catherine was part of the financial advisory practice at Deloitte and the audit practice at KPMG. Catherine completed her undergraduate degree in International Business from Carleton University and obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. She also completed her Master of Finance at the Rotman School of Management. She speaks Spanish, French and Mandarin Chinese at various levels.
Catherine is a BrainWAVE committee member at the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, committed to having a positive impact on children battling or having survived brain tumours.
