Stepping Stones with Children (StStwC) is a scientifically and socially innovative approach to supporting children living with HIV and their caregivers. The StStwC program covers a wide range of topics including psychosocial wellbeing, resilience, stigma, living with HIV, and preventing sexual abuse. The full original version of StStWC works with children aged 5-14 years and their caregivers over 29 sessions. The Uganda Network of Young People Living with HIV/AIDS (UNYPA) will adapt and pilot the Stepping Stones with Children (StStwC) program for use with youth (10-14 years) in the Ugandan context and conduct a comparative evaluation of the full version and a less intensive version of the program to determine if the wide-ranging benefits of StStwC can be delivered more cost-effectively.
