Over 89 million people live in remote areas of Bangladesh that are subject to natural disasters of increasing regularity and intensity as a result of global climate change, leaving poor migratory communities in northern and southern parts of the country with a complete absense or poor functioning health services and infrastructure. Friendship is the only NGO that reliably and comprehensively serves these communities through a structured 3-tier healthcare delivery model consisting of hospital ships, satellite clinics and a cadre of Friendship Community Medic Aides.
